Signatures

Does anyone know if signatures can be applied to Categories?
For example, I use one signature for Family, another for Friends, a more
formal one for Business, etc.

It would be really useful if there was an option to set a "default"
signature for each category!!

Yes, that would be lovely! There would be issues to work
round like what if you sent a message to people in two
categories, or what if a person you were sending to had
two different categories (You can assign multiple
categories to any item in entourage), but I'm sure some
rules could be arranged.

Currently you can only assign default signatures to mail
accounts. It would be possible to duplicate your account -
one for freinds, one for work etc, then assign the
relevant sig to each account, but choosing the account
when sending is no different to selecting the sig when
sending. Alternatively, you could use a script running on
a repeating 1 minute schedule to check for a draft
window, look up the category of the first recipient and
apply the relevant sig.

Better still would be to badger MS into incorporating a
new feature - send a message direct to the developers
using the 'send feedback' item under the help menu. These
messages go direct to the development team. The more
requests they get for a particular feature the more
likely it is to be incorporated into future versions.
