Simple query

I wish to add a trailing comma to each text record in a column.
The text is of varying/undefined length.
How should I do this?
TIA

Oops, I spoke too soon.
I created a new empty column B
In B1 I inserted =A1 & "," but the data (text) in A1 is not copied into B1.
Only the formula is displayed in B1
I have tried it with and without a space each side of the & character.
Am I making a fundamental error?
TIA

Hi
format this cell as 'General'. Currently probably formated as 'Text'.
Then re-enter the formula

Thanks very much Frank.
That was the problem.

Now a new query if you don't mind.
I performed the operation on several columns containing address-book
entries, now I want to delete the original columns, so that I have a new
database with commas after each entry.
You will know what happens when I try to do this.....
How should I be performing this operation?
Thanks

Hi
- copy the data
- paste the data with 'Edit - Paste Special - Values' to remove the
formulas
