Simple Question - Milestone Tracking

S

Suz

Hi

This may be a really simple tracking question, I have linked
Milestones within a Project Plan, if a milestone moves I would like to
see the diamond where it was and the diamond where it is now, and so
on to track the changes. Is this possible within MSP 2003 Project
Server SP2.

Many Thanks

Yes, the way you do this is to save a Baseline in the project before you
begin entering actual progress in the project. The Baseline contains
information about original schedule values, including the Start and Finish
dates, Duration, Work, and Cost for each task. You see the original
Baseline schedule and the current project schedule in the Tracking Gantt
view (click View - Tracking Gantt). This view shows the Baseline schedule
for Milestones as hollow diamonds, and shows the current schedule for
Milestones as black diamonds. Hope this helps.

They will have to be patient and wait for the baseline then... I shall
tell them tomorrow - many thanks for the help Dale
