simple question workbook size

Hello NG. I have a question regarding a workbook. I have
created a 4 worksheet Excel workbook that will many
users. The workbook is currently 2megs in size and I'm
not 100% completed. I know Access has the compact and
repair and I was wondering if Excel has anything similar
that would reduce the size? Or is there some coding that
can be used?
Thanks to anyone for any feedback on this?

I use zip self-extracting archive, reduces excel files 3-4 times, and users
don't have to do anything - just click to open.

You can copy all your VBA code in the notepad, delete the
modules, create new one and paste your code in it. I do
not know why but it seem like Excel keep the code you
delete and keep on growing during developing time... It
can make a big difference (first time I tried it on my
project I get from 3.2Mo to 1.89Mo... just doing
this "copy/delete/create/paste/save" procedure.

You dont need to do it this way

You can simply export them by right clicking on them in the Project
explorer and selecting the export file function. The
files may be loaded back in after the Excel
code modules have been deleted using the
File>Import File option

Even easier you can use Rob Bovey's excellent Code Cleaner
add in which can be downloaded from the following site

http://www.bmsltd.co.uk/MVP/MVPPage.asp

This excellent app also allows you to save copies
of the exported files which is an excellent method
of backing them up.
