I have copied figures across from a retail report and in the excel sheet they are displayed as hundreds, as they are in the retail report. In the retail report however it is stated that they the figures represent millions. Is there any way in the excel sheet that I can convert all the figures to millions without changing every figure

If I have understood you correctly, here's one
way to do it:

1. Enter 1000000 in an empty cell
2. Copy the cell
3. Select the cells to be converted
4. Choose Edit > Paste special
5. Choose "Multiply". OK
6. Press <Esc> to cancel the copy operation.

Do you mean that you want to convert a figure of, say, 123 into 123000000 ?
If so, put 1000000 in a spare cell somewhere and copy it. Select the entire
range of numbers you want to convert and use
Edit > Paste Special > Operation Add > OK.
(You can now delete the 1000000 in the 'spare cell'.)
