Pls help! I have only ever recorded Macros in Word but I want a Macro that
will immediately bring up the File - Save As dialog box. How Exactly do I
write it - please tell me every step as I don't normally write macros. Many,
many thanks! Sall

The command that you need to use is:

Dialogs(wdDialogFileSaveAs).Show

If by immediately, you mean as soon as a new document is created, put the
command in a macro named autonew, either in the template from which the
document is created or in a template that you place in the Word Startup
directory.

Thank you Doug. But please can you tell me the whole process for writing a
Macro - Do I just go into Macros - Create and type only the bit you've shown
or do I need something else? Thanks
Sally Perhaps there's an idiot's guide to writing your first macro
somewhere? Sall
