Simple update

I have imported data where in one field (Invent#) leading spaces and perhaps
also trailing ones appear. I tried to get rid of these by first creating a
new field (CorrInv#) and then using an update query. In the grid I have one
column with CorrInv# as field name and at the line Change to I have written
Trim([Invent#]) but nothing happens when running. - I am a novice so I have
apparently made a mistake or something is lacking. Please tell me how to do!
Thanks in advance. /Ove in Sweden

How are you determining that "nothing happens"?

Can you fill your new field by using only [Invent#] in the Change To line?

Sorry, I do not get any results there either.
After saving the change of the grid I click on the icon Datasheet (1st of
the tool icons) and I have also tried F5 (Update). I get always a sheet with
one single field "CorrInv#" with no content.

Sorry again, I did not realize that I had to press Run to execute. It
works!/Ove
