single alphabet letters shown in contacts index

Meg Fouts

I have so many contacts, it's tedious to go through one alphabet letter to
get to the letter its coupled with. Can I reconfigure my a=b=c listing to
show single letters??

No, you can't reconfigure them but...

In Outlook 2003, if there is enough space, the a-c d-f buttons etc expand to
single letters.

An improvement might be that if they were multiple letters clicking on them
repeatedly would cycle round all the letters they covered. This is what
happens in Pocket Outlook on Window Mobile (Pocket PC).
