single quotes around email address

Why does Outlook add single quotes around any email address or name? Contrary
to others, the quotes are still added regardless of whether or not the
address itself is in my address book.

Additionally, on the receiving end of the email, the quotes will show up in
the TO field of the message header when the message is opened by the
recipient (i.e. the TO field will appear as 'name' on the recipient's client).

Please advise.

All SMTP clients will add apostrophes to the "friendly name" part of a
recipient address under certain conditions and it's of no import because
it's not the real address, with everything between the apostrophes being
considered a comment or white space. The displayed name in the recipient
field, once it's resolved (underlined) doesn't have any connection to the
true recipient address, which you can see by double-clicking the underlined
name.

Different programs written by different programmers naturally behave
differently, would be my guess.
