Site check please

No. The image path is to your local machine. You need to import the images
into your open FP web before inserting on a page and saving them.

For some reason your page wants me to connect again to my satellite ...
Hmmm, very strange. When I cancel that the spaces for the images disappear.

mmmm ok, when I click properties on the website on line I see that its point
to localhost - but when I click on properties in fp2003 for the graphic, its
just listed in images/ ... this was working fine yesterday and this
morning...what did I do to make it NOT upload from localhost to the server?

P

Pam

also - when I open fp2003 and open site - its goes to my localhost - which
is normal - and where I work from - then all the graphics are in my images
folder and when I insert them into my site, they all read /images/ect ...
then I publish to my server - I've never had this problem before where it
sitll lists them as being on my local host....any ideas as to why it won't
transfer correctly??

thanks
pam

Did you by chance have just the page open and not the site when you edit the page?

Also if you have or use Selective Publishing, DON"T, always use File Menu | Publish Site.

on IE no pictures
the hyperlinks are pointing to your local machine
make sure the images folder is getting published and that's where the
hyperlinks are pointing to

in the publish dialog there are 2 sides on left (usually) is your web on
your comp (design mode)
on right is the remote server and the files at your ISP, both sides should
have the same files

thats whats so weird....I've been using fp for years - and have never
encountered this problem before - in fact - the same site uploaded fine
yesterday and was fine this morning - viewers could see it fine - now..all
of the sudden when I publish - the site is not transferring correctly to the
server - on one side is my localhost and the other side is my www.server -
but the server is maintaining the localhost info- even though ALL my
files/images ect are on both sides of the screen...I'm totally lost as to
what to do??

ok, just an update - not sure WHY but it seemed the actual server i was
uploading to was not 'getting the message' from my localhost (at least
that's all I can figure out) - stargate.com - On one of the times that I
uploaded, it deleted my index.html and replaced it with a _holding.htm - so
after I recreated my index page, and published again - it took the changes.
However, when I was copying the txt from the word file to put back in the
index file, my machine crashed - when it asked if I wanted to send a report
to microsoft I said yes, and it appears it was a driver crash? I have no
clue what happened, however it does seem fixed now...could someone check the
site again...

also... I had a problem last week with my firewall programs and had to take
off zonealarm and avg free version, restore my computer to a previous point
and then I reinstalled AVG. What other program can I use along with AVG that
will not conflict with my email? (couldn't receive any email from my dot
coms) - I have never had success with Norton - and I don't feel safe enough
with just AVG

thanks!
Pam

Nicely done.

But please get rid of these - they become incredibly annoying and really
retard the visitor experience.

Pam,
I refuse to use Norton
AVG is the only AV program I use.

Also, I refuse to use Zone Alarm. I had problems with 2 different versions.

I do however, use Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware.

Not if you use a modern browser.

I can see both images in IE6 (probably after you have uploaded them
for the umpteenth time :) ). However banner_true.jpg may be removed
from the display by some anti-virus/fire-wall applications.
Zone-Alarm, Norton and perhaps MacAfee will remove images from the
code if the image path or name contains any word from ad, advert,
advertisement, banner, to "protect" the user.
