Site template issue

Hello:

I created a project workspace and used it to develop my
customizations. As recommended by MSFT, I made sure that this project
workspace is not linked to a project. I saved the site as a template,
added the template using stsadm, and set it as the template for
project workspace provisioning. I then published a project which
automatically created a project workspace using the custom site
template.

Everything looks fine except that - I had configured Web parts based
on lists to show a specific custom view. (e.g. Issues Web part that I
added was set up show a custom view with no toolbar). On the newly
created workspace, the Web parts do not show the custom view, but the
default "All Items" view with toolbar. So I need to manually configure
them again.

My question is - is this is a known behavior/issue? Am I missing
something? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I ended up creating an event handler that invokes a stored procedure
that updates the Web parts to have the custom views. Not too happy
with this solution though. Still looking for a fix or an elegant
workaround....

Alright, this is a known issue - fixed by Feb 07 WSS 3.0 hotfix...
