Size of Font, '12' is too large for letter-typing

M

MapleE.

Hi:
Every time I open Word 2000, a size of Font is always '12' at the top of the
menu bar. I normally need to type '10,' .... not '12' that is too large/big
for typing letters.

How to make a size of the Font '10' permanently, without a need to change
'10' at the top of the menu bar?

Thanks for your help in advance.

In the Font dialog, select 10, click Default..., and answer yes. See also

I might disagree that 12 points is too large for letters, however. If you
want people to read your letters and are using 10-point type, be sure to use
generous side margins; otherwise the line will become too long for easy
reading (especially if single-spaced).

It may be too big on screen, but what about when it is printed? What about
readers with eyesight that is not perfect? 12 pt is a perfectly acceptable
size for letters.
