size of the fonts

how can i make the fonts bigger, in older versions it had the font box and right next to it had the size box but in the latest one doesn't have the choice to choose the size. The letters look really small once you open a document and star writting.

Where are you looking? And what version of Word and OS?

Both the Formatting Toolbar and the Formatting Palette have the size box
right by the font box, by default. Can't figure out why you aren't
seeing them without more information.

You might also try the Zoom command (View menu or Standard Toolbar), as
the font might just look small on your computer but be the standard 12pt
already.
