I created a Word 97 table (using Table/Insert) with six columns and
initially 2 rows (one for the column headings). The two rows expaned to
177 as I added entries. At that point, Explorer showed the filesize to
be 148KB.
I then deleted all but two rows, one still for the headings, and used
the Save As command. Explorer now shows the new 2-row table as being a
larger 161KB instead of something much smaller than 148KB.
Why?
(The table is a log of phone calls I make trying to locate high school
classmates. Each classmate gets one row, with one of the cells
containing a record of each phone number I called for that graduate.)
Thanks,
Ray
