Skipping Records

I'm having the same problem as Hile. Word mailmerge document is for a catalog and data source is an Access database query. Every third or fouth record skips. I've created the word mailmerge document several times but am getting same result. I am using Word 2000, Access 2000 and Windows XP Home. I've looked for any special characters (i.e., double quotes") and have none. I also cut and pasted the query into an excel spreadsheet and tested the merge. Same result . . . skipping records. Any advice?

Do you have a <<Next Record>> field there somewhere where it is not needed?

No, I have only one <<Next Record>> at the end of the merge field list. Doug, I've done these types of merges many times before but not with Windows XP. Thanks for any help you can give me

Hi Kate,

Can you provide some more information on how the mailmerge main document is
laid out. What type of merge is it - Formletters, Labels, Catalog (or
Directory as it is called in Word XP and later). I don't quite under stand
the "one <<Next Record>> at the end of the merge field list" There is
nothing about Windows XP that would cause the merge to behave differently
from running it under earlier versions of Windows.

I'd say this is likely the problem. If you want ALL the records to
come across in a catalog merge then you wouldn't need a "Next record"
in there...

(Note: I can imagine situations when this might be desired due to
layout considerations, but not at the *end* of a list of merge
fields)
