SKU011.CAB error msg

Hi,

Recently, upon start-up, Windows XP has been
automatically updating Microsoft Office Professional
2003, but can't find a file called SKU011.CAB. Even
though it can't find the file, it continues to look for
it, and even when I press "cancel", it tries to look for
it yet again, making it highly frustrating to try to get
anything accomplished on this computer!

This only started after I downloaded a Windows
recommended update off the Microsoft web site. Does
anyone have any ideas as to what's causing this and how I
can fix it?

Thanks!
Robb

It's possible that your LocalCache files are corrupt or missing. The quick solution would be to uninstall and reinstall Office (remember to keep the local cache after setup by selecting the last check box to not delete installation files). This isn't the most convenient solution, but will give you a fresh start.
This is a very difficult issue to debug and fix, as you can see from this blog from a MS setup developer:
http://blogs.msdn.com/robmen/archive/2004/02/04/67797.aspx
so I'd recommend the above.

Thank you so much!

I bought my computer through a University, so Microsoft
Office Pro 2003 was already installed, and I don't have
the discs to reinstall it. Is there any way I can
reinstall this package on the Microsoft web site? I have
a license and such, just no CD. The University wants me
to pay $25 to get the discs, so if there's any way I can
have it downloaded through Microsoft, that'd save me some
money, which is always a good thing :).

Thanks again!

No as educational software you will have to buy the disks, from the
University, pursuant to their educational license. MS will not provide them
and they are not available for download.
