SKU011.CAB

Michael

I'm trying to install Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack
1 from the Office Update site, but during the
installation, it asks for SKU011.CAB. I can't find an
SKU011.CAB either on my hard drive or my installation CD
although I do have an SKU011.XML on my hard drive.

I've done the repair/reinstall; rebooted and retried the
Service Pack 1 installation. Same error. Same file.

I've downloaded the Full File installation and tried to
install it. Same error. Same file.

Does anyone have any ideas how to correct this?

I get a similar message asking for sku111.cab. I notice
that in my list of installed programs under "Add and
Remove Programs," that Office 2003 is listed twice--one
of which seems to be a defective installation. Office
indeed has been installed multiple times for various
reasons. It appears that the defective installation is
preventing SP-1 from installing properly. There are
probably some residual registry entries that need to be
cleaned out, but I have no idea how many, nor which
ones. Anyone out there with any insight?

I had a similar issue. I had two installations of
Microsoft Office Professional 2003 listed in ADD/REMOVE
PROGRAMS. I removed one of them and tried again, but I
had no luck. Finally, I just gave in, deleted Office
entirely and reloaded from scratch. Once I did that,
Service Pack 1 installed properly. I hated to go this
route, but I didn't really find a good enough answer in my
research travels.
