This may be caused by corruption of your Local
Installation Source (LIS). Please check out these KB articles and see if they
apply:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;875556

If your LIS is corrupted you can use the LIS Tool to disable LIS and get the
update

I am having the same Issue... And I have followed the instructions from
"Goose".
Used the LIS tool to disable LIS, but when I try to install the SP1 upgrade
it is still asking for SKU017...

What went wrong here?

Please make sure that you have correctly disabled LIS. I've only been able to
repro this issue through a corruption of the LIS.
Have you tried inserting the original Office 2003 CD? What message was shown?
I may need log files and other information to find out what went wrong.

If all else fails, a quick solution is to uninstall and reinstall Office,
and make sure LIS is enabled by not deleting your setup files after Office is
installed.

I hope the LIS was disabled correctly... No way for me to know that.
I did try inserting the original Office 2003 CD when it asked during the
instalation.
The message was something along the lines of "unable to locate needed file
SKU017.cad...
please insert CD and try again.."

Fearing that I may have messed-up with the LIS tool I run setup again and
selected the Reinstall or repair option. Tried to install the upgrade but the
same issue happend (no SKU017).

I did not try uninstalling the whole program for fear of losing all my
outlook data...

Rafael:
It seems that the corruption problem is serious, or you may have the wrong
Office 2003 CD (it happends more often than you think). In these cases where
I can't personally debug I really recommend uninstalling and reinstalling
Office, your Outlook info won't be lost as long as you keep your PST file up
to date (Archive all your emails) and you export your address list. Search
for these terms in the Help menu to learn more about them.

Goose:
Thanks. I guess that uninstalling it is going to be the only way out...
I checked the CD and it seems to be the right one it says MSFT Office
Professional Edition 2003 (Upgrade). I upgraded from OFFC XP...
I have located the PST files, and my address book is backed to my PDA...
I will post back who things went...

Again thanks.
