I have Office 2004 and when I move a slide from another presentation the
background changes. I'm used to the the Windows version of Office where it
prompts you as to whether you want to maintain the background or accept the
new one when you move a slide (you may have to right click this to be
prompted). The Mac 2004 version doesn't do this. If I upgrade to Office 2008
will this problem be solved? I love the Mac and want to keep using it but I
use PP so much and this problem is very annoying.
Hi,
PowerPoint 2004 offers two different ways to control what happens when
slides are moved from one presentation to another.
In PowerPoint preferences, click the Advanced tab. Under Multiple Masters
there's a checkbox for "Keep design when copying slides between
presentations."
If you use Insert > Slides From File > Select Slides to Insert then select
the file you wish to use as the source, in the dialog box there's a checkbox
for "Keep design of original slides"
In PowerPoint 2008 the checkbox on the Advanced tab of preferences has been
removed, but the checkbox in Insert > Slides has been retained.
