Slide Background when Moving slides from other presentations

I have Office 2004 and when I move a slide from another presentation the background changes. I'm used to the the Windows version of Office where it prompts you as to whether you want to maintain the background or accept the new one when you move a slide (you may have to right click this to be prompted). The Mac 2004 version doesn't do this. If I upgrade to Office 2008 will this problem be solved? I love the Mac and want to keep using it but I use PP so much and this problem is very annoying.

Hi,

PowerPoint 2004 offers two different ways to control what happens when
slides are moved from one presentation to another.

In PowerPoint preferences, click the Advanced tab. Under Multiple Masters
there's a checkbox for "Keep design when copying slides between
presentations."

If you use Insert > Slides From File > Select Slides to Insert then select
the file you wish to use as the source, in the dialog box there's a checkbox
for "Keep design of original slides"

In PowerPoint 2008 the checkbox on the Advanced tab of preferences has been
removed, but the checkbox in Insert > Slides has been retained.

Has anyone else experienced this problem: PowerPoint slide design preview function doesn't work any longer since I installed Leopard.

Hi

It works OK for me in Leopard.

Have you tried using disk utility to repair permissions? Is your copy
of Office up to date?

Between February 17 and today, the check box has also disappeared from insert>slides. Is there any work around for this?

The series of messages you've jumped into don't seem to have anything to do
with your issue... Although I'm afraid it isn't really clear what your issue
is:) I don't know of an Insert> Slides command as such in PPt 2004 or 2008.

In 2008 the Insert menu commands which include the word Slide are;
New Slide
Duplicate Slide
Slides From
Slide Number

In 2004 the Insert menu contains;
New Slide
Duplicate Slide
Slide Number
Slides from File...
Slides from Outline...

None of the commands in either menu involve check boxes

It might be best to submit your concerns as a new post giving complete
detail about which version of PPt & OS X as well as a more thorough
description of the situation.
