Slide Number positioning

Hi,

I am looking to be able to have the slide number on even slides on the
left side of the page, and slide number on odd slides on the right
side of the page, so that when I print them out, and put them together
like a book, the slide/page number will always be on the outside of
the sheet.

How can I do this??

You don't mention your version which always helps

2002/3 you need to duplicate the master or in 2007 duplicate the layout used

In both cases move the slide number placeholder to the desired position

Select the odd slides only and apply the master or layout to those selected
slides only

Insert > choose slide number and apply to all

Does that get you close?
