Slide progression once flash movie has played

Hi everyone,

I've successfully placed a flash file into my powerpoint document and
it plays okay, but once the movie has played once I need the slideshow
to progress to the next slide automatically. Can someone tell me how to
go about this? I know you can set a slide transition so that the slides
progress after a number of seconds, but how will the slideshow know to
progress only once the flash moview has finished playing?

Would really appreciate any help offered.

Thanks

Goto Slide Show | Set Up Show, under Advance Slides choose "Using
Timings, if present." Then goto Slide Show | Slide Transition, under
Advance Slide select "Automatically after x seconds." and Apply. You
don't need to choose a Transition from the dropdown to do this - it
should default to "No Transition."

If you want it to go to the next slide immediately after playing the
Flash movie, set it to 0 seconds.

Susan, this is a Mac newsgroup.

People come here to ask questions about Mac PowerPoint because they use
Macintosh computers.

Your software is Windows-only.

Do you understand the problem here?

Hi everyone,

Sorry to have to come back to this topic but I've run into another
problem. I was able to get the slides to progress automatically and
everything's running fine on my mac but I've run into a problem when I
pass the powerpoint file on to someone who's running on a pc. The
initial slide contains the flash movie but the guy is telling me that
he can't see the movie at all on his machine. I can't understand why
this would happen because I know for a fact that he has the flash
player on his computer - he's able to view flash movies fine on the
web.

Would someone have any idea why the flash movie isn't viewable on a pc?
Also, I've inserted a .mov file into one of the slides in the
presentation - I'm able to view it on my computer but again the pc guy
is getting a message on the slide saying something about not having the
right codec. He says he's got Quicktime installed, so I don't
understand why he's not able to view this either.

If anyone can give me any clues as to how to fix these problems, I'd be
really grateful.

Did the method you used to insert the Flash match up with the suggestions here:

Good tutorial starting here:

As a test, you could also try getting someone on a PC to try inserting your
Flash movie following these instrux. It may be down to an incompatibility
between the way ActiveX works on a PC vs the Mac equivalent.

If you can't find a cooperative PC-user within shouting distance and the files
aren't enormous, give me an e-yell -- steve atsign pptools dot com -- and I'll
give it a try.

PC support for QT is very limited. MOVs are best avoided if you want your
presentations viewable on Windows PCs.
If anyone can give me any clues as to how to fix these problems, I'd be
really grateful.
