slide show problems

Hello:

When I run a powerpoint 2003 show with my Laptop connected to my Ben-Q
projector and run the show using the projector remote control, I have the
problem of the show jumping back to the first slide in the presentation
without me having advaced the slide. It seems as though the computer has a
mind of its own. I am running Windows 2000 prof with all the latest updates
to all my software. When the occcurs, I unplug the USB cable from the
computer and have to advace the slides from the computer keyboard. It only
does this when I have the USB cable connected so I can use the remote.
Any ideas own what is causing this problem?

When I use the same projector but with a different computer (a Dell,
Inspiron) I don't have this problem. Is there a possiblilty that my original
Office 2003 disk has a corrupted file or something?
