During my presentation there are two slides that during
the transitition my desktop shortcut bar and task bar
breifly appear before the next slide. What can I do to
prevent this?

Dawn,

What PowerPoint version and what operating system? Is your task bar set for
auto hide? Could you try moving the offending slides to a new presentation
on their own and see if they still do it?

When I move the slides to a new presentation, it still
behaves the same. It happens right after a slide
with .mpg file.

You might try updating to the latest version of DirectX. That fixes a
different problem--with the mouse and MPEGs--but it's worth a try.
