Slides gradually changing from Greyscale to Color

Occasionally I get a PP Show where some or all the slides gradually fade
from greyscale to color. It is very effective and so I learned how to make a
slide perform this way. I desaturate a color slide to B & W and insert both
into 1 slide. Set it up for a Fade transition on Entrance or Exit depending
on which photo is added to the slide first and it works well. To do this on
each slide is a long tedious job. Any suggestions on how this can be done
easily if possible? Thanks. Stan

The process sounds right and I am sure the visual effect is great. I can
offer two options to speed up production:

1. Create an PPT autoshape the size of your graphic (sounds like it is the
size of the slide)
Use the Fill Effects to place your b/w image in it
Duplicate this autoshape, change fill to your color image
Add the entrance animation
Now Copy both of these shapes to new slide - or duplicate existing slide
Change fill effects to next set of images. The animation, position, etc.
will all be preset so you only have to worry about getting the right set of
images.

2. Purchase the PPTXtreme Edit add-in that among other things has a pick-up
and paste animations tool.
