slides inverted (negatives) in powerpoint 2008

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

When opening a ppt made on PC in powerpoint 2004 with Mac 2008 some of the slides invert and look like film negatives. This includes images and text. Has anyone any suggestion as to stop this happening or correct it?
