I'm using PowerPoint in kiosk mode to construct a photo portfolio.

After 5 minutes of inactivity (no mouse movement), the presentation
automatically reverts to the first slide.

I don't want this to occur. If art directors pause to discuss my photos and
leave an image on the screen, they'd be annoyed if they had to start over
from the beginning and find the spot where they were.

Can anyone please assist me in disabling this feature? Thanks very much!

Ahhh, they must have finally fixed that. Kiosk mode went through a few
versions where it didn't reset. John provided a link to Chirag's Kiosk
Assistant -- I second that.

John,

Kiosk Assistant will probably help, but in a round-about way. It doesn't
have an option to not reset the slideshow at all; it only makes it possible
to set a specific time period for it to reset.

Also, its interface is somewhat annoying, because it won't allow me to
select the time period and enter a number. Instead, I have to hold the
"increase time" button down while it circulates through the seconds of
minutes. But, that's beside the point. I'll hold the button down until the
reset time is an hour, which should be sufficient.

The other problem with Kiosk Assistant is that its drop-down menu of slides
to select as the reset point is arbitrary and incomplete. It offers slides
81 through 165 (not inclusively, and in a jumping-around order) as the
options I can choose from, and there isn't even a slide 81 in my
presentation! There will be at least that many slides in the presentation by
the time I have completed constructing it, though. So, in order to
circumvent the fact that those slide numbers are ones I'm required to choose
from, I'll have to make, say, slide 81 be a copy of my Menu Page slide (which
is actually slide 3 in my presentation). Or, maybe I'll just move the Menu
Page to slide 81. That is, unless you can offer any other suggestions.

I do appreciate your help, nonetheless. I'd much rather have the ability to
keep the presentation from resetting itself to slide 1 (a "welcome to my
portfolio" introduction slide) after five minutes than not, even if I have to
go about it in a backwards manner. Thanks, also, for the prompt reply to my
original posting.

Strange thing is I didn't think that Kiosk did this in 2007??

I didn't think so, either! I wonder if it's SP1-related? Viewer?
