slipping text around linked Excel charts in Word

Hey guys :) I'm linking multiple charts from Excel into my thesis
(Word), and expect to need to edit text above and below these charts as
my thesis is revised. The problem I'm anticipating is that when I
delete text above a large chart, it often leaves an empty void if the
chart is too big to move up over the page break. What I would like is
to have some text below the chart move up (slip around the chart) to
fill this empty space. Pasting these charts in creates
plugs/roadblocks for the text to get stuck between. Is there a way
around this? Many thanks!!!

Which version... May not make much difference, but could matter greatly.

One possibility is Cmd+Click an XL object, choose Format Object & go to the
Layout tab. Click 'Advanced', then choose the Text Wrapping option for Top &
Bottom. While there, click to the Position page, remove the checks for 'Move
object with text' & 'Allow overlap'.

See if that does what you want.
