Slow Access Database on a network

Unfortunately I inherited a Microsoft access database that runs on an windows
xp machine. It is shared between four users. When the users are attached it
seems to crawl. I’ve added gig nics and I’m planning to add a scsi drive to
the xp machine that houses the database. Is there anything else I could do
to speed it up or am I spinning my wheels?

Throwing more hardware beyond a properly running 100 base T network will
generally not help.

However, ensuring you have a proper setup for multi-user will make a big
difference.

You should have a split system, so, get that right....

The above will not fix your performance, but it will increase reliability by
a large amount.
