We have an Access file, used solely for reporting purposes, that is linked to
our SQL Server db. The end users get to the Access file over Citrix with the
file itself located on a network share. I also have a copy of the Access
file on my "home" network location. I'm running into a problem where when
some of the reports are run via the Citrix path, they appear to hang but when
I run them on my "local" copy, the results appear very quickly. I'm new to
using Profiler but when I tried to trace both methods of running the reports,
I can see that the Citrix method seems to take a different path when running
the queries. Almost as if it goes slowly line by line through some of the
tables whereas using my local copy the table is "processed" in one shot.
(Sorry if this doesn't make much sense.) Does anyone have any idea where I
could start on resolving this issue? (Unfortunately we can't get rid of
Citrix.)
