Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Are there any new suggestions to solve an old problem? With datasets bigger than 1000 datapoints line and scatter charts are intolerably slow. I observed this slowdown only when using the option with datapoint markers (which I need to show on the graph).
When a file containing charts from 15k datapoints is created in Excel 2003 on a Windows machine I can open and work with it normally in Excel 2008. No endlessly spinning disc!
I'm using a brand-new mac book pro with 4GB RAM and all software is up to date.
As I learned from searching the web, this problem hasn't been solved since early 2008! Does microsoft offer a free download of Excel 2004 until there is a better solution?
