Slow DFS paths in Office

Hello,

I have a really strange problem at work. We use DFS to get to all of our
shared folders in the office. Connecting to the share using windows XP works
fine, instant access. When I try to go to exectly the same place through
office (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook) it takes about 1 minute to go
through one particular folder. After that folder you can navigate further
down the tree without problems, but if you come back to that folder it takes
another minute to go above it. The folder this occurs on varies depending on
the user. They all have access to this folder as Windows Explorer works fine.
We have figured it out to be something in the application data section of
the profile, I deleted one the users profile & it now works fine. Is there
something in Application data which will store the DFS path?

Many Thanks,

Matt Riddler

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

We do not use any mapped drives on the system, this is to cut down on the
calls saying my H drive is no longer working & not knowing where it points to.

Thanks,

Matt
