Slow down

Using: Office XP under Windows XP.

Since I installed my new computer (3.0 GHz), I find that loading an excel
file is slower than on my old machine (800 MHz).
Is there anything to do with security? Any idea?

Do you have a new virus scanner also. This can sometimes take a time to scan
a file before loading

Also what operating systems and version of Office were you running
before. How long before you noticed a problem. Was the software
on your new machine preinstalled.

I only have a firewall running ZoneAlarm, no virus scanner.

I forgot to add that I have 1 Gb of memory. Is there a problem with this
(virtual memory, cache,...)?
