Slow folder browsing WXP - Office XP

Hello,
ich have a network (3 Pc with WxPro SP1 and 1 Win98).
All Pc´s have a static Ip Adresse.
Network is working fine.
The problem I have is when i use Word XP and klick on open and then open a
folder which contains a lot of word documents the "folder opening" is very
slow.
The Windows98 Computer is very fast comparing the WXPro Computer.
The WindowsXP Computers are also slow when I make a search in opening a word
document, typing into the "filename" for example "*test*". The searching i
also slow.

I hope that someone has an answer for me.
