Entourage is very slow to download messages from my server. I frequently get a 3259 "server timeout" message, even though the list of messages has been identified but not downloaded. Sometimes a few messages will come in before it hangs up, and sometimes none.
I'm using a MacBook (the white version) and recently had the hard drive replaced under the Apple Care plan. As I recall, mail worked fine before the replacement. Of course, they had to replace the operating system also, but I've done all updates and keep it updated weekly. I'm using Office 2008 (Military Edition), and all software is kept updated.
I've taken the computer back to the Apple Store and the techs at the "Genius Bar" have kept and tested it and say there are no hardware problems.
I don't think the problem lies with my server because I can use my PC laptop with Outlook and it works fine; likewise, accessing mail via the web works fine. I'm using a Netgear router that also seem to work well with the PC, and in most cases, with my Mac.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
