Slow mail opening Outlook 2003...

Peter

Hi All,

I have a client running WinXP SP2 with up to date MS XP & Office updates
installed connected to an Exchange 2003 SP1 Server using outlook 2003 in
cached Exchange Mode

When he opens a mail it is painfully slow. Other users on the same system &
same settings work perfect.

Pulling hair out now and aint got a lot left, any help appreciated.

Pete

Couple of things that come to mind

1) Instant Messenger (Tools > Options > Other and uncheck the boxes at the
bottom concerning IM)

2) Removing extra line breaks from plain text messages
(Tools > Options > Prefs tab > Email Options button. 4th or 5th checkbox
down from the top)

3) What do you use for Antivirus software? If your site's Exchange server
is protected, I would disable the feature on the client to scan e-mail and
the client side scanning of OST/PST files.
