Slow Netware connection

Greetings,

Our database has 4.5 MB data tables residing on a NetWare
server volume. Up to 10 front-end applications residing
on client computers may access the data at a time, but
that rarely occurs. On each client computer I have mapped
the server volume to a drive letter and link the tables.
The connection is slooooow. It can take a client computer
3-5 minutes to run a query which would only take a few
seconds to execute if the tables were stored locally. The
problem gets worse as more people access the data. This
problem has existed over several versions of the Netware
server, but it is getting worse as the database grows.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks to the referral, but I've tried all the
recommendations found at the site, to no avail. I'm open
for other suggestions.
