Slow Network Access

I have a Windows 98 computer with Office XP Pro
installed. When I try to access a document stored on a
network drive or save a document to a network drive, it is
extremely slow (taking approximately 1 minute). And,
then, when I double click on the document to open it from
a network drive, it takes an extremely long time then as
well. Any HELP would be appreciated.

Also, I have a Windows 2000 computer that has the VERY
same issues with Office 2000 Pro.
