Slow Opening Word?

All of a sudden MS Word XP is taking about 15 seconds to open and it is
requesting Internet Access in the process of opening.

Anybody have an idea what update/modification/IMPROVEMENT in Word or ,
perhaps, Norton Anti Virus caused this to suddenly happen and what I can do
to correct it?

Solved my own problem thanks to Graham Mayor's earlier answer to Undine.

It WAS the Norton Office plug in.

Disable it in Norton and the problem goes away

Rumour has it there's a problem with a recent Norton AV update. Unchecking
its Office plug-in will help (you don't need that anyway).

Norton's Verisign Certificate has expired. Disable the Office Plug-in to
resolve your problem. It isn't needed anyway.
