slow opening

I've had Office XP on my mchaine for sometime and it has been fine. All of
a sudden, it is taking a bit more time than usual for Word to open up, even
when I am starting a new document. Interestingly, Powerpoint and Excel have
no such problem. Since it is happening on two separate computers, I am at a
loss for an answer. BTW each has 512MB of RAM, so it's not a memory
problem. Any thoiughts out there.

I have the same problem with Word 2002. It just started doing this.

I am using office 2000. Both Excel & Word were extremely slow, as of
today, in opening. Thanks to the sage advice from Bonahue the problem
has been resolved
