slow pop3 and errors (OL2007b2 & VistaRC1)

It's nearly impossible for me to download new messages
from my pop3 server under vista RC1 with Outlouk 2007 beta2:

The symptoms are the following:
1/ when using the "Send/Receive" command, the progress bar shows
a very slow progression. OL manages to download around 22kB, and
hangs saying I must contact my ISP provider (error 0x800CCC90).
2/ the next tries, I get an error 0x8004210E saying that my mailbox
is locked by another mail application (so the previous error condition
did not release the lock on my mailbox).
3/ when I'm using "Download Inbox Headers", all the headers in my
pop3 account are correctly downloaded at normal speed. But, when
I "mark for download" my messages, and use "Process Marked Headers",
I can only download messages smaller than 22kB (and eventually
process several in the same batch). Any attempt to download a message
greater than 22kB give the same error as 1/.

I have a 20Mb cable internet connection, and I've disabled any firewall,
protection, anti-virus that can interfere with the mail reception.

I've made intensive researches on internet on that problem, and It seems
that other users experience the same problem.
Search for exemple "pop3" in the microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
newsgroup. And no answer for now ...

Ok: I've seen the note about the office beta 2 technical refresh update.
But this update seems to be unavailable for now (see
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/overview.mspx ).
and the search in ms download center as said in the release notes
gives no hit.

Is there another place where this update could be available?

Which state that Office 2007 Beta 2 is not supported under Vista RC1 and
that you'll need to wait for B2TR to use Office under RC1?
