Slow Remote Connection To Access Database

I have Access 2000 database that is 200 MB size. This database is used
world wide. Using the dataabse locally the connection is quick and database
response time is quick also. Use the database far away from the server the
connection is slow and the database response time is slow.

Please help me with the resolutions to the slow connection and response time
from Access database from a far distance from the server.
