After the upgrade to Office 2007 on certain machines here users are having
extremely slow responses when accessing spreadsheets that are stored on share
drives. Eventually the files do open but on the first click Excel freezes and
does not recover. On certain machines the message saying “Excel has
encountered a problem and needs to close†pops up before the user has made
any changes to the spreadsheet. This also results in numerous different
copies of the file being created because of Office’s auto recover feature.
On 2 machines uninstalled Office 2007 and reinstalled 2003. This hasn’t
made things any better. It seems like it might even be worse.
Please help with any ideas!
