Slow running - often starts in safe mode - 2007

I'm running Outlook 2007 with BCM. Often when I start Outlook it takes 5 or
more minutes to start and retrieve emails. Other applications seem to work
OK. Often it wants to start in Safe Mode, saying it didn't shut down
properly the first time. All the patches are installed. Previously I was
running 2003 with BCM upgraded from 2000. I've tried a reinstall but its no
better. Any suggestions please?

If you upgraded from OL2k did you also create a new unicode data file?
Have you any add-ins? If so have you checked for updates for these?

I've no idea about the unicode data file - WHat is it? How do I check?
The only addin I have is the pst backup and I've been told the same one
works foer 2003 and 2007.

I've just read the failure message. Its saying last time it failed to start
properly and therefore this time its opening in safe mode.

You stated you started the upgrade path from OL2000>2003>2007

Select properties of Personal Folders, General Tab>Advanced
What does it say for 'Format'?
And in Folder size, what does it give?

Its 332072. Not sure about format - its says "When posting to this fold
use IPM"?
