Slow screen performance

I just upgraded from FP2002 to FP 2003 and can't understand why my screen
won't refresh as normal. I have been doing some pretty intense video editing,
and in FP 2002 it didn't behave like this. I simply open a new page, put one
frame in it and when scrolling up and down there is a terrible lag on the
screen. I have updated all my drivers, and dis-abled virus protection, but it
is un usable this way. I wish I hadn't upgraded.

I notice a little lag before context (right click) menus come up.
I was thinking maybe to kill the special effects in windows (fade in etc)
might help. I just haven't had time to try. ;-)

Interesting you mention that, I also had noticed something funny with drop
down menus on the tool bar.........if I let one drop down, then moved my
mouse to another, there was also a lag and the new one would drop down, while
the old one & even two would still be showing in the background.
Not to be redundant, but FP 2002 works better ( I un-installed 2003, &
re-installed 2002). And I haven't had any problems running other intensive
programs. Something is just wrong here and maybe it's not the FP 2003 as much
as some conflict with my system. I have tried everything that I know of to do
and finally just gave up. I will try to return the program, but doubt the
store will refund my $109.00. I do get agrivated that there wasn't a "trial
download" to try for 15 days or something so that I could "try before I buy",
but there wasn't.

I don't work for MS so I don't have any interest in it but, IMHO FrontPage
2003 is so head and shoulders above the previous releases I'm willing to
live with it.

If I were you I'd reinstall it and then go straight to MS and get any office
and or OS updates etc. Maybe see if there's a driver update for your video,
etc.

It's way too good to scrap.

"Been there, done that"
Already updated the program, and updated drivers. I also swear that while
the prog. was opened, everything else that I tried to do was slower than
normal.
I could try re-installing. I didn't update to WinXP SP2 until after FP03 was
installed, I wonder if that would make a difference.....

Re SP2; It may make a difference.
believe me Mike, I'd buy a new computer before I dumped fp03, it's that good
(for the way I use it).
