Slow, slow

Frustrated using Word 2002 (came as part of Works package with a new
computer) (XP sp2, 512mg ram) because docs load very slowly -- 40 seconds or
more, take another 15 seconds to unload. It's a known problem -- microsoft
has a KB sheet out on it, which I saw once and haven't been able to find
again. This is my third version of Word, but first one with the problem.
Anybody know the MS KB number, or better yet, know the solution? Would
really appreciate.

Open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the Office Plug-in.
Does that resolve the problem?

Thanks much. That seems to have done it. What presumably was the purpose of
the add-on in the first place?

Well some users may think to stop everything working properly! I'm not at
all experienced with Works (only Office), so I am unable to advise you of
its real purpose.
