Slow / Stalled Outlook 2007 downloads

I have installed Outlook 2007 on Vista Business and am having great
difficulty with some of my email accounts.

The client downloads from certain POP3 boxes at ridiculously slow speeds
(e.g. reporting 9 mins. for 90kb, 28 hours for 400kb messages). Sometimes I
receive error messages stating taht the server reported an internal error,
other times the client will continue to try and download but make little or
no progress.

This only happens to some of the mailboxes on a particualr ISP (Titan
Internet), there doesn not appear to be any difference in settings between
these and the mailboxes that work, have tried deleting and recreating the
mailboxes.

The ISP insists that there is no issue ro any unusual settings on their
systems.

Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP (SP2) machine works absolutely fine.

Hey,

I am having the *exact* same problem. It seems that any emails with photos
or attachments get timed out everytime I tried downloading them. I had no
problems with this when I was running Office 2007 on Windows XP (I'm using
Vista Home Premium).

What's going on? How can I fix this?

Update for me:

I tried uninstalling Outlook 2007 and reinstalling Outlook 2003 and I'm
stilling having the same problem, so I think it's something related to
Vista...

The MediaDirect feature on some PCs can cause the probnlem.
