Slow startup

When user double-clicks a WORD doc to open it, 30 sec or
more pass before the doc opens. Is there a way to speed
this up? The computer is a P4 with 256 MB of RAM. No
anti-virus program is running.

Try this: First open Word, then open the Document: Is this way faster?
If yes, then I have the same problem as you, also P4 with 256 MB RAM.
