Slow to open folders

Eric

When I am in office and I go to open or save a file, every
time I double click on a folder, there is a 15-75 second
delay before the contents appear. I have tried defraging
numerous times, and have noticiced that my swap file size
is over 500 megs! any suggestions?

Is this when you're browsing within a File Open Dialog in Office?
If you have Norton AntiVirus installed, try disabling the Office plug-in.

Please respond in the same thread on this newsgroup. Make sure you
include details of your application and Windows versions, and whether
or not you have included any service pack updates.

Have experienced a similar issue with the 'Open/Save...'
dialog box.

If the folders you are browsing are located on a network
share it might be worth while checking the following KB
article :

818792 - OffXP: Long Delay in the Display of File Names
from the "File Open" Dialog Box

Hope that you are able to resolve your issue
satisfactorily.
