Slow with Linked Tasks Between Projects

I am using MS Project 2002 Standard. I have created 32 projects, one of which is a resource pool. There are many links between the project plans. About three of the plans have links to each of the other projects. The files have grown to around 12KB each and are very slow to open and save. E.g., opening one takes 5 to 10 minutes to either open or save. When I open one of the three that are really linked, it takes even longer. The other day, I opened several and it took hours to exit and save each plan

I wanted to use the links to drive dates and dependencies, yet keep the projects separate because different people are reviewing them. Is this a lost cause? I have search extensively on the MS site and have not found any help. I have SP-1

You might have some corruption somewhere. You could try the suggestions in
FAQ Item: 43. File Bloat? - Might be Corruption.
