Again, I have found what appears to be a bug in the "Edit Story in Word"
tool. I have auto-format set to convert straight quotes to smart quotes in
both Publisher and Word. Yet, when I switch from Publisher to Word (using the
Edit Story in Word feature) my curvy quotes become straightened. This only
happens when I'm switching from Publisher to Word, not vice versa (if I
create the curvy quote in Word, I must switch back to Pub, then back to Word
again for the problem to surface). This problem occurs whether I'm allowing
Word/Publisher to autoformat my quotes for me, or whether I've gone through
the trouble of typing the appropriate character code (i.e., Alt + 0145, etc.)
for the appropriate curved quote.
Please note that this bug only seems to occur with the straight quotes to
smart quotes autoformatting--the autoformat that converts two hyphens to an
m-dash stays an m-dash, no matter how many times I switch between Publisher
and Word.
Is this a bug? Am I missing something? No helpful answers found in Help, the
KB, or searching through past threads.
